Misano Adriatico, Italy – Pit Lane Competizioni shined once again at Misano World Circuit, theater of the third round of the 2017 24h TCE Series season, showing the right race pace to gain the overall podium. On the track dedicated to the MotoGP Legend Marco Simoncelli, the dreams of glory of the Italian team cracked at the sunset, when a contact forced to retire the Audi RS3 LMS, preventing to the German sedan to concretize the high potential shown on track.

Started from the 6th stop on grid, but third in the TCR class, the team formed by the US driver Zack Arnold, the Frenchman John Filippi – in action last week in the Portuguese round of the WTCC -, the Italian Roberto Ferri e Alberto Vescovi and the newcomer Ivan Benvenuti put on track a stunning comeback during the race, placing the Pit Lane Competizioni Audi on the podium after the first quarter of the race.

A contact in a frenetic moment of the race ruined irremediably the gearbox of the RS3, forcing the Italian team, that until that moment showed a great race pace, to a premature retire.

It’s a real pity, we had to retire the car when once again we were battling for the overall podium in a international-level competition.” said the Team Principal Roberto Remelli, who is helped in managing the team by the track engineer Massimiliano Galeazzi and the technical director Denis Remelli. “All the drivers have the maximum and all together did a great comeback, Benvenuti quickly integrated himself with the team from the beginning. During the practices we choose to be focused on the race pace, giving less importance to the single lap time. The game was working but a contact stopped us at the sunset, when the battle of the top positions was starting to be interesting.

The Audi RS3 LMS of the Pit Lane Competizioni will come back on track stronger than ever next 3rd of September, when the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya will host the fourth round the 24h TCR Series.

The Italian team will be back on track already this weekend at Mugello circuit for the fourth event both of TCR Italy and SEAT Leon Cupra Cup.
